The Child Development Department is hiring six student assistants for the Spring 2019 semester. Please review the job descriptions below. If you are interested in applying, please submit a letter of interest addressed to the Department Chair, Dr. Kishan Lara-Cooper to the Department Office (HGH 229) no later than 12:00pm on Tuesday, February 26th. You must be a current HSU student to apply.
Methods of Observation & Assessment Video Editor (2 Positions) - 8 hours/week
The video editors will edit existing video to create instructional activities for CD 354 Methods of Observation
- Applicants must have video editing experience
- Applicants must have taken CD 354 and received a grade of B or better
- Applicants must have the ability to organize effective segments for anecdotes, checklists, etc.
Methods of Observation & Assessment Resource Developer (2 Positions) - 5 hours/week
The resource developers will develop an annotation review of existing observation methods or transfer self-guided study programs
- Applicants must have experience with annotated bibliographies, research, and technology
- Applicants must have taken CD 354 and received a grade of B or better
Peer Mentor for Child Development Core Courses (1 Position) - 3 hours/week
The Peer Mentor will help students with assignments for CD core courses
- Applicants must have passed several upper division Child Development courses with a B or better
- Applicants must have strong interpersonal skills
Methods of Observation & Assessment Peer Mentor (1 Position) - 15 hours/week THIS POSITION HAS BEEN FILLED
The Peer Mentor will review, assess and provide feedback on student descriptions of child behavior and development
- Applicants must be familiar with specific methods/assignments taught in CD 354
- Applicants must possess strong interpersonal skills
- Applicants must have taken CD 354 and received a grade of B or better
