“After graduating from HSU I joined the Peace Corps and served as a Youth Development Specialist. Little did I know I would remain abroad for the next five years working in education and youth development. Now I am back in California working for the Orange County Department of Education as the project assistant for youth development programs. I specifically manage a statewide program called Friday Night Live and am responsible for supporting chapters and advisors in Orange County. I also give county-wide trainings on Media Literacy and advise the Orange County Youth Council. My time in the Child Development department was full of meaningful experiences. From the thoughtful class discussions to field work experiences, I graduated feeling both prepared and secure. I will forever hold the Child Development Department at HSU in high esteem.”
